Larissa Raga, Analyst – Saratoga

“At Saratoga your talents and efforts are acknowledged. We have a great company culture and our people are always willing to take the time to support your growth.”

In her first year at Saratoga Larissa Raga has been exposed to various opportunities and met many new professionals and leaders in business analysis, all of which has contributed to significantly growing her career. “I found the mentoring provided at Saratoga the most valuable and rewarding for me as a goal orientated person. I am able to work with my mentor to set up strategic career goals which are realistic enough to achieve.

While Larissa currently works in a Business Analysis role, she was originally placed on a project as a Tester after completing the Graduate Programme. Larissa formed part of a Saratoga team based at one of our clients and went on to obtain her ISTQB Foundation Level Certification. “The team was very supportive. Their training helped me progress in my testing career whilst I developed my domain knowledge of the system.”

Larissa is also a member of the Saratoga Future Fit committee, which started in 2016 to identify opportunities for the company to grow and improve. Being part of this committee has given Larissa the opportunity to practice her presentation and facilitation skills, while also contributing ideas to our management team. One of the projects the committee is currently working on is establishing a Health and Wellness programme for Saratoga staff.

As part of developing her career in Business Analysis, Larissa is an IIBA South Africa Volunteer. “As a volunteer I’ve been provided with the opportunity to network and build relationships with Business Analysis experts in South Africa.” Larissa has been very active as a volunteer and in 2016 successfully helped organise the IIBA Professional Development Day which was held in Cape Town.

For current graduates looking to apply for a graduate programme, Larissa encourages you to choose a company which will support your career growth and plans for the future. “The company should also provide mentoring opportunities so that you can lean on someone with experience to guide you through your career. Learn from people around you and don’t be afraid to ask for help.”

If you’re looking to kick-start a meaningful career in business or technology, applications for our 2018 Graduate Programme are now open.
